O CINE SOL é muito provavelmente a Sala de Cinema mais emblemática da ilha Madeira, quer pela sua história, quer pela sua fantástica localização.

Construído em 1933 pelo visionário e aristocrata António Marques Teixeira (1876-1935), que pessoalmente deu corpo à imaginação e a arquitetura Art Déco, movimento que simboliza até os dia de hoje este património edificado da Região Autónoma da Madeira, o Cine Sol foi até à data, preservado pela sua família de forma exemplar.

O Cine Sol é um espaço que ainda hoje é palco de sessões de cinema em parceria com diversas entidades e projetos ligados ao mundo do cinema, recuperando as velhas memórias de que outrora foi palco.

A sala de cinema tinha uma capacidade para 300 pessoas. Antigamente, o imóvel era conhecido também como o clube, pois reunia-se a aristocracia pontassolense para bailes, convívios, jogos e visionamento de películas.
