A Festa da Flor é um evento cultural e um dos principais cartazes turísticos da Madeira, atraindo à região milhares de turistas. Este evento, que ocorre anualmente na cidade do Funchal, celebra a chegada da primavera e dá a conhecer aspetos da cultura madeirense, como a fabricação de tapetes florais.

O evento decorre ao longo de vários dias, com cortejos, exposições de flores tropicais, tapetes florais e música. O ponto alto do evento são os seus cortejos. Começa no sábado com o cortejo infantil e culmina com o cortejo principal da Festa da Flor, no domingo, onde centenas de dançarinos disfarçados de flores passam nos seus carros alegóricos decorados com flores pelas ruas do Funchal. Outro acontecimento desta celebração é a exposição de flores tropicais produzidas por produtores locais. Outro dos momentos bonitos deste evento é o "Muro da Esperança" no Largo do Município. Este "muro" é decorado com flores por crianças e simboliza a esperança de um mundo melhor.

A origem da Festa da Flor remonta ao ano de 1954, quando se realizou no Ateneu Comercial do Funchal a Festa da Rosa. Nesta festa foram expostas flores e culminou com um prémio às melhores. O sucesso alcançado levou a que este evento se repetisse anualmente, sob a denominação de Festa da Flor. A partir de 1979, a organização deste evento passou a ser da responsabilidade da Direção Regional do Turismo.

The event takes place over several days, with processions, exhibitions of tropical flowers, floral rugs and music. The highlight of the event are its parades. It starts on Saturday with the children's parade and culminates with the main parade of the Flower Festival on Sunday, where hundreds of dancers dressed as flowers spend in their floats decorated with flowers by the streets of Funchal. Another highlight of this celebration is the exhibition of tropical flowers produced by local producers. One of the most symbolic and beautiful moments of this event is the "Wall of Hope" in Largo do Município. This "wall" is decorated with flowers by children and symbolizes the hope for a better world.

The origin of the Flower Festival dates back to 1954, when the Festa da Rosa (Rose Festival) was held at the Ateneu Comercial do Funchal. In this party flowers were exhibited and culminated with a prize for the best. The success achieved led this event to be repeated annually, under the name of Flower Festival. From 1979, the organization of this event became the responsibility of the Regional Directorate for Tourism.
