Cascata do Rabo do Burro

CASCATA DO RABO DO BURRO OU DA FAJÃ ESCURA 

 

PT:

Programa a tua viagem em direcção à Ponta Delgada e depois sobe para a Lombada.

Pelo caminho terás uma visão panorâmica da Ponta Delgada.

Ao chegar á Segunda Lombada e um pouco antes de chegar ao Parque de Merendas, segue a estrada de cimento que sobe ao longo do vale.

Pelo caminho encontrarás os típicos palheiros, muitos deles recuperados e disponíveis para aluguer. 

Estaciona perto do fim da estrada.

Segue a estrada de terra até o seu final. Atravessa a Ribeira da Camisa e segue um trilho pouco marcado na margem oeste. Utilizando o trilho serão poucas as vezes que terás de andar dentro da ribeira. 

Avançando pela densa vegetação e pelas pedras cobertas de musgo chegamos em pouco tempo a uma bela cascata. 

Procura visitar a cascata no Inverno quando o caudal é mais significativo.

Atenção:
- A dificuldade deste percurso depende do caudal da ribeira. Analisa as condições e não arrisques.

- Este percurso desenvolve-se dentro de um vale com fraco sinal GPS.

- O percurso deverá ser feito apenas com boas condições climatéricas.
- Deverás levar água e comida, roupa e calçado apropriados (roupa extra para o caso de te molhares).
- A utilização de um bordão é recomendada.

Along the way you'll have a panoramic view of Ponta Delgada. 

When reaching Segunda Lombada and shortly before the Picnic Park, follow a cement road that rises along the valley. 

Along the way you will find the typical barns, many of them attractively recovered and available for rent.

Park near the end of the road.
Follow the dirt road to its end. Cross Ribeira da Camisa's stream and follow a path slightly marked on the west bank. If you use this path you will reduce the times that you will have to walk inside the river bed.
Progressing through dense vegetation and moss-covered rocks, we soon arrive at a beautiful waterfall.
Try to visit the waterfall during the winter months when the flow is stronger.

Attention:

- The difficulty of this route depends on the flow of the stream. Analyze the conditions and don't take risks.

- This route develops within a valley with weak GPS signal.

- There is a trail on the west bank. If you use the trail you will avoid walking inside the river bed most of the way.

- The course must be done only with good weather conditions.

- You should bring water and food, clothing and appropriate footwear (extra clothing in case you get too wet).

- The use of walking poles is recommended.
